15 ^(A)A soft answer turns away wrath,
    but ^(B)a harsh word stirs up anger.

^14 (A)A king's wrath is a messenger of death,
    and a wise man will ^(B)appease it.

⁴ If the anger of the ruler rises against you, ^(A)do not leave your place,
    ^(B)for calmness^[a] will lay great offenses to rest.
